The Hanks Lab is a basic/translational research lab that is moving to the University of North Carolina Lineburger Cancer Center with an interest in understanding cancer immune evasion and immunotherapy resistance. We are seeking a motivated, hardworking Post-Doctoral Candidate with a background in immunology to guide studies on the role of the tumor-intrinsic NLRP3 inflammasome in immune evasion and its impact on tumor dormancy and immunotherapy resistance. This will be a two-year minimum position. The candidate will be expected to work independently while collaborating with other lab members in a team-oriented work environment. Recent Ph.D. graduates preferred. http://www.thehankslab.com Requirements for the Position: • PhD Degree in the Biomedical Sciences • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with good organizational and analytical abilities • Capable of working independently on assigned projects while thriving in a team-oriented environment • Interest and experience in working with murine tumor models required • Significant experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry and in the design of cell-based assays required Preferred for the Position: • Experience in performing and analyzing bulk RNAseq/scRNAseq preferred. • Interest and experience in conducting spatial transcriptomic studies preferred. • Experience in conducting proximity ligation assays and fluorescence in situ hybridization on tumor tissue specimens preferred. • Previous grant writing experience preferred.
